FIFA 12 | So You Want A… Right Midfielder (Winter Update)

On to wide players, and first up are right midfielders. Both RMs and more forward-playing RWs have been included.

As usual, in an attempt to make this relevant to as many players as possible, I have not included any right midfielders whose OVR is above 73 – this way you can keep your costs down and have some cash left over for other purchases (be they real players or new scouts). Furthermore, I have listed the players by cost, with the cheapest at the top of each sub-group (players are grouped by potential). However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the lowest-OVR players are at the top – notice how Giorgi Chanturia is 6 points better and £600,000 cheaper than Elio De Silvestro, whilst also having the Dribbler speciality.

Here are my recommendations:

  • Giorgi Chanturia
  • Deulofeu
  • Lucas Andersen

Giorgi Chanturia is just 18 years old, yet he already comes with the Dribbler speciality. He is agile, quick and has great balance, so can glide past defenders. He also has 5 star skill moves, so will have plenty of tricks up his sleeve. £3.7m is a steal for someone of his ability and potential.

Deulofeu epitomises the ideal winger – he’s a speedster and is full of tricks, so you can bamboozle your opponents or simply steam past them. His weak foot is also very good, so you can choose whether to make him cross or cut inside and shoot without having to sacrifice quality. He even has pretty good stamina for a such speedy winger. His young age means he’ll be starring for you for years to come, so make sure you tie him down to a long contract.

Finally, Lucas Andersen has the flexibility to be deployed as an RM or further up the pitch as a winger. His crossing is decent and his dribbling is really good (it’s rated 73; he’s 16, imagine what it’ll be after just a couple of seasons’ worth of growth). His passing and positioning are also good, so you could even play him as an attacking midfielder if you preferred. At 16 he’s got plenty of time to develop, and at £1.6m he’s a bargain that’s simply too good to miss.

Please bear in mind that these figures may not be exactly the same on your game. These stats are taken from my own personal experiences, but are likely to be very similar to those on your own game. The best thing to do is to make sure you keep checking these players, as their prices may drop radically after a while.

Finally, if you’ve had any experiences of good players’ prices changing wildly (especially if their price drops), please post it in the comments!

So, without further ado, here are the players:

  1. Redmond is BEAST, don’t be put off by his overvalued price ’cause when his stats increase from 66 to 67 his price goes down from 5 million to 1,9 mill AWESOME!!!

  2. Oduamadi and Redmond are both beast, they’ll beat any defender! Also Oduamadi’s often on free agents so great player to get.

That’s true, especially seeing as Redmond was 4 star skills. Didn’t know Oduamadi ends up there, I’ll have to keep an eye out for him! Before the winter update Marcel Buchel (who had potential 84) would usually end up there at the start of the 2nd season, so it’s always good to keep checking it.

  3. oudamedi’s wages are 60k?!? unreal. that being said, Redmond is a beast. i don’t know why his price fluctuates wildly tho hahaha

WHOOPS haha, they’re meant to be £6,000! Thanks for spotting that. They can’t be £60,000, I have him loaned in on my Huddersfield CM, they definitely can’t afford that!

Oduamadi is?? Crazy! I’ve never seen him in there, but it is possible I suppose. Before the winter update came out Marcel Buchel (back then he had potential 84) would almost always end up in the free agents at the start of the 2nd season 🙂

          1. After winter-update he sometimes is. I had a season when oduamadi (pot 80) and guberti (pot 81) and hu (pot 80) were free players. Of course i took them all 🙂

You lucky so and so! Haha the highest potential player I’ve found in the free agents had potential 74!

          3. He is often a free agent in the first season. I think the free agents in the first season are scripted since I’ve only observed three ‘combinations’ of players: players from 2. Bundesliga, Serie B and another one that had no decent players. If you have Oduamandi in the free agents in the 1st season, you’ll also have good players such as Suciu, Simon, Icardi and Guberti.

Yeh there are definitely certain combinations of players in the free agents. Clearly there’s a jackpot one as well!

Well apparently he gets it all directly from the code. I assume he uses the game on a PC and so is able to look at the code. I’m not sure exactly how he does it, but I know the potentials come directly from the game code itself, so it’s very accurate.

  4. Hey everyone. Just about to set up a career mode with Arsenal and i want to know what the market value is to begin with for each of the following:Thomas Muller, Alexsander Dragovic,Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa,Luuk De Jong and Robert Lewandowski. By the way i’m just considering these players as i rate them highly.

      Here you go:

      Dragovic – £7m – potential 85
      Yanga-M’Biwa – £10.5m – potential 84
      Muller – £23.5m – potential 86
      De Jong – £15.5m – potential 86
      Lewandowski – £15.5m – potential 84

  5. thanks. muller looks a bit expensive for his potential considering de jong’s value. dragovic looks like a wothwhile purchase

That’s what I was thinking. Lewandowski costs as much as De Jong but his potential is 2 lower. It’s always best to shop around because it’s often surprising how prices can differ between players.

      1. what do you make of miralem sulemanji, yoann goucuff and alexandre lacazette cos i’m thinking about buying him for arsenal?

Well at Arsenal you don’t really need another winger, so probably not Sulejmani (although he is really good). Gourcuff and Lacazette would be really good buys, though.

          1. i was thinking sulemanji cos i sold gervinho and walcott. so i thought i might need another winger

Ah I see. In that case he’s a good choice. Have a look at others though and make sure to look up their potential, you may find a similar player for less money.

          3. oh and also i’m trying to buy alvaro negredo from seville (because i sold van persie cos of his age) but they want £20 million for him when his value is £13 million. should i just pay the £20 million?

          4. Post
            Author

Nah, there are other options who will cost less. Try Luuk De Jong, I think he’s cheaper but he has the same potential (85)

  6. I think Labyad (PSV) is better than all the players here.
I only use him as sub but hes already reached 85 at only 25!!!

Ace! The only problem is he starts at 74 OVR, so is slightly over the threshold for this article. I had to cut it off somewhere, and I chose 73 OVR, otherwise he’s definitely be in here!

  7. i have a suggestion, you should put whether or not the players are like “recently moved” so we would know if we can get him in the first season but good job, got a lot of quality players.

That’s a good idea, I may put it in the articles for FIFA 13 (the current ones are kinda crowded, so I need to probably make some adjustments so the extra info can fit in).
