Easy method for five star scouts 3

Here it is at last, the five-star scout method part 3! In this third and final part of the series, sidharth on the FIFA 12 forums has come up with a great idea that balances the previous two methods of finding these scouts (see his original post here). Whilst the first technique had a high chance of success but cost a lot of money, the second technique was cheaper but based much more on chance. Sidharth’s method gives you more control than method 2 but with less financial outlay than method 1. It still requires plenty of reloading, but you are able to “guide” the scout selection process. Let’s see how it works.

This method was based on the discovery that scout generation is not entirely random, but grouped by continent. In your group of 5 scouts to choose from there will be 1-3 from the nation that you defined as your manager’s nationality, with the others being made up of scouts from one of these continents. They go in the following order: Northern Europe > Southern Europe > Central Europe > Rest of Europe > Asia > Australia > Africa > South America > North America, before heading back to Northern Europe again. Note that this is the same order as when you choose where to send a scout that you have already hired.

When you purchase a scout, as besidavi showed, he is replaced by another of a similar or higher level. What sidharth has shown is that this replacement is cyclical. Purchasing a Scottish scout (from Northern Europe) may generate an Italian scout (from Southern Europe) next time around.

As before, we start on a Thursday, the day before a fresh set of scouts is generated. Make sure you have at least one free spot available to hire a scout. With this order in mind, decide what scout you are looking for. Let’s say you want a 5*5* Brazilian scout. Knowing the order as stated above, we should therefore try to buy an African scout. So, keep advancing to the Friday and reloading until you have a set of African scouts. Now, save your game, quit and reload. That way you’ve made the African scouts the starting point, ensuring South American scouts (hopefully a 5*5* Brazilian scout!) will appear next. The key now is to purchase the best scout (in this case, the best African scout) in your spread. As I said before, purchased scouts tend to generate scouts who are of an equal or better rating, so by buying the best scout you are maximising your chances of getting a really good scout next time around.

Let’s use an example. Let’s say the best scout in your selection is a 3*3* Nigerian scout. Assuming your manager’s nationality is not Nigerian, this means the current region for scouts is Africa. Thus, the next region that the scouts will be from will be South America. With that in mind, buy the 3/3 Nigerian scout. He will be replaced by a scout from any nation from the next region in the sequence. This new scout will have a rating at least as good, but usually better on first try. So, for example, the 3*3* Nigerian may be replaced by a 4*5* Uruguayan.

This is clearly very useful because you can plan for which region your scout will come from. Whilst we don’t think there’s any way yet to guarantee what country your new scout will be from, you can at least give yourself a better chance by determining which region they’ll be from. Furthermore, you can “encourage” highly rated scouts to appear (similar to besidavi’s method).

Here’s a final rundown:

  1. Scouts are generated in the order mentioned here
  2. Advance to Friday and reload until your spread of scouts is made up of scouts from the region before the one you are looking for
  3. Save your game and reload it
  4. Purchase the best scout in your spread (providing he is not of the same nationality as your manager)
  5. Advance a couple of days, then check your scout spread again
  6. You should have a scout from the next region in your spread whose rating is equal to or better than the one you just purchased!

  7. I know this method may seem a little confusing, but if you want to maximise your chances of getting the scout you want, this is the way to go.
